Volunteers in Probation (VIP)
The volunteers in our department are valued and appreciated. Volunteering with the Probation Department offers students and community members’ opportunities to gain hands-on experience. They may work in conjunction with probation officers in the office, write memos to the court or interview victims and defendants.
They may coordinate recreational activities, facilitate youth programs or verify school attendance. Volunteers also may help at the Juvenile Detention and Assessment Centers by facilitating social awareness programs, mentoring youth, providing tutoring or leading other activities under staff supervision.
